Privacy & Safety
Protecting students, schools and personal data
Digital Influx works with schools and young people across multiple countries. Protecting the privacy, security and dignity of the people using our programmes is fundamental to how we design and deliver our services.
Our approach is simple: collect only the information we need, use it only for an authorised purpose, protect it appropriately, and keep schools in control of their students' personal data.
- We do not sell student personal data.
- We do not use student personal data for targeted advertising.
- We do not use student personal data to train general-purpose AI models.

Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect personal data.
Our Global Privacy & Children's Data Policy explains how Digital Influx handles personal information relating to students, teachers, parents, school representatives, website visitors and other people who interact with us.
It covers our responsibilities when working with schools, children's privacy, international data transfers, data retention, individual rights, security and the privacy requirements that apply across the regions in which we operate.
Student Privacy
Your data. Your rights. Explained simply.
Students should be able to understand what happens to their information.
Our Student Privacy Notice explains in age-appropriate language what information Digital Influx may receive, why we need it, who can see it, how long we keep it and what students can do if they have a question or concern.
When Digital Influx delivers a programme through a school, the school remains responsible for deciding how its students' personal data is used and Digital Influx processes that information on the school's instructions.
Sub-processors
The technology providers that help us deliver Digital Influx.
Digital Influx uses a limited number of third-party technology providers in the delivery of our educational services.
Our principal educational technology providers are
- Microsoft TeamsOnline teaching, communication and collaboration.
- ZoomLive online workshops, teaching and video communication.
- MindsmithDelivery of interactive Digital Influx learning experiences and curriculum content.
Where these providers process personal data on our behalf, we assess the relevant privacy and security arrangements and apply appropriate contractual and data-protection requirements.
AI & Student Data
AI education should not come at the expense of student privacy.
Artificial intelligence forms part of what we teach through Cognitive Design. We believe students should learn how to question AI, understand its limitations and use it without giving up human judgement or responsibility.
The same principle applies to their data.
- Digital Influx does not use student personal data to train general-purpose AI or foundation models.
- We do not sell student personal data, use it to create advertising profiles or use it for targeted behavioural advertising.
- We do not require students to enter identifiable personal information into public general-purpose AI systems as part of the standard Cognitive Design curriculum.
Before introducing technology that processes student personal data, we assess why it is required, what information it receives, where that information is processed, how long it is retained, its security arrangements and whether it can be used for AI model training.
Security & Data Protection
Protecting information throughout the learning experience.
Digital Influx applies appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, misuse, alteration, loss or disclosure.
Our approach includes appropriate access controls, authentication, data minimisation, secure technology providers, confidentiality requirements, incident-response procedures and controls over who can access student information.
Student information is only accessible where there is an authorised educational or operational reason for that access.
No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security. We continually review the safeguards appropriate to the information and services we provide.
Online Learning & Recording
Clear rules for online teaching and communication.
Digital Influx may use Microsoft Teams and Zoom to deliver online teaching, workshops, teacher training and other educational activities.
Digital Influx does not record student online sessions by default.
Where recording is required for an approved educational purpose, it must be appropriately authorised and participants must be informed. Any recording containing personal information is subject to appropriate access and retention controls.
Our Online Learning & Recording Policy also explains our approach to meeting communications, transcripts, chat, cameras, access and safeguarding.
