UX is short for “user experience” which is the experience a person has when using a product or service. UX design is about how a user feels when interacting with the digital (or sometimes physical) design, like an app or a website. A UX designer's aim is always the same: to make the user’s experience better.

Are UI and UX the same thing? If not, what’s the difference?
The two are related, like brother and sister. But they are definitely not twins. User experience (UX) is the experience a person has when using a product or service, while user interface (UI) is the finished look of what they interact with. Take for example, online shopping. UX is about how you find the products, what makes you decide to buy, how easy it is to check out, the online shopping experience. Whereas UI is the site you are on, the buttons you press, how big they are, the aesthetic.
