UX is short for “user experience” which is the experience a person has when using a product or service. UX designers are concerned with how a user feels when interacting with the digital (or sometimes physical) design, like an app or website. Their aim is always the same: to make the user’s experience better.
Teachers, you’ve got a lot on your plate. Between marking homework, meeting standards and continuously developing a curriculum, you must keep students and yourself engaged.
Here at Digital Influx, we believe teaching UX can be of great help.
UX can make a difference
Social awareness
UX design requires students to empathize with the person they’re designing for, regardless of background or culture. Showing care & concern for others helps them build & maintain healthy relationships
Self-management
UX involves thorough testing and research. So, students must learn how to manage their emotions, behaviours and stress levels in order to persevere through challenges and solve problems effectively & efficiently
Self-awareness
With UX, students learn to recognise their own assumptions about others as well as their own emotions, goals, values, strengths & weaknesses. There’s no such thing as a perfect design, but self-awareness gets you closer
Responsible decision making
Through UX design, students learn that making ethical and constructive choices is important both personally & professionally. Students are better equipped to make responsible decisions and contribute to the world
Relationship skills
UX is a team effort. UX design can help teach students how to effectively communicate, actively listen, work in teams, form positive relationships & effectively handle conflict
UX can meet goals
On our courses, students design with the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in mind, helping you strive for a sustainable classroom:
UX For Kids
Health & Wellbeing
(Goal 3)
Green Energy
(Goal 13)
Animal Welfare
(Goal 15)
UX For Teens
Zero Hunger
(Goal 2)
Reduced Inequalities
(Goal 10)
Sustainable Communities

Why is UX important?
UX is behind every human interaction with a digital product. The industry is growing incredibly fast.
Are UI and UX the same thing? If not, what’s the difference?
Are UI and UX the same thing? If not, what’s the difference?
The two are related, like brother and sister. But they are definitely not twins. User experience (UX) is the experience a person has when using a product or service, while user interface (UI) is the specific product an individual interacts with. Take for example, online shopping. UX is about how you find the products, what makes you decide to buy, how easy it is to check out, the online shopping experience. Whereas the UI is the site you are on, the buttons you press, how they look, the aesthetic.
